Wandsworth loves its pets, there can be no doubt about that. But what happens when you need to travel with your beloved animal? Luckily, Wolf Veterinary Services is here to help take the stress out of the whole process. We caught up with owner and founder, Julia Wolf, to find out more.
How did Wolf Veterinary Services come about?
Wolf was born out of a very personal experience. I was navigating the process of moving abroad with my own dog and quickly realised just how complicated and stressful pet travel can be – not just for the animal, but for the owner, too. Between the paperwork, deadlines, lack of guidance, and strict travel requirements, I saw a real need for a service that made the process easier, clearer, and more compassionate.
So, I created a mobile veterinary service that brings pet travel support directly to people’s homes, offering both expert guidance and a calmer experience for pets.
What inspired you, personally, to get into animal welfare?
I realised how fascinated I was by animals after visiting a petting zoo as a child and witnessing a calf being born. It was such a powerful moment. From then on, I was hooked.
I’ve always been drawn to the way animals communicate, the unconditional love they offer, and their incredible ability to connect with humans without ever speaking a word.
Veterinary medicine gives me the chance to help both animals and their owners, which is deeply fulfilling. The fact that my patients can’t tell me what’s wrong can be a challenge, but it’s also what makes the work so rewarding — it’s a blend of science, empathy, and a bit of detective work. Every day is different, and every animal teaches me something new.

We provide Animal Health Certificates (AHCs) for travel to the EU, Fit to Fly Certificates for air travel, and Export Health Certificates for countries around the world.
We also offer OV66 ID Declaration checks, RNATT declarations, and tailored EHC support for more complex destinations like Australia. The idea is simple: your pet stays calm in their own environment, and you get expert, convenient, and one-on-one support throughout the process.

Have you had any unusual animal encounters?
Prior to starting Wolf Veterinary Services I worked as an Emergency Veterinarian in Australia and around the UK. It always fascinates me what dogs will eat… underwear, rocks, socks, hair pins, hair lackeys, toys, jewellery, AirPods, diapers, sanitary products and more…
What’s your favourite thing about Wandsworth?
Wandsworth has such a warm, community feel. There’s a real mix of vibrant energy and calm green spaces — and of course, it’s full of animal lovers! I’ve met so many thoughtful, proactive pet owners here who go above and beyond to care for their companions. It’s a place where people value both convenience and quality care, which aligns perfectly with what we offer. Plus, the riverside walks are a favourite for me and my own dog.
