Spotlight: Gravity

The Easter half-term is fast approaching and we can think of no better fun for the whole family than a trip to Gravity at Southside. We sat down with manager Rob to explore everything Gravity has to offer, from innovative gaming, e-karting, delicious food, and more!

Tell us who you are and what you do.

My name is Rob Belfield and I’m the General Manager of Gravity Wandsworth.

How did Gravity come about?

Gravity was established in 2014 as the first business in the UK to open trampoline parks to inspire active entertainment and enjoyment for all ages. The company has grown tremendously since then and is constantly at the forefront of scouring the world for the best quality entertainment products, and bringing them to the UK.

We saw the appetite for a place like Gravity Wandsworth, which is three floors of immersive entertainment and plenty of firsts, like e-karting, AR bowling, Hologate VR, and many more.

We’ll be continuing to grow across the UK and internationally, which is very exciting.

What can visitors enjoy at Gravity Wandsworth?

We’re best known for our e-karting track, but our floors are filled with incredible experiences. We have London’s biggest arcade, a Hologate VR arena with virtual reality games for adults and families, a state-of-the-art 14-lane bowling alley with enhanced augmented reality themes, digital darts booths with six different augmented reality games, a fully equipped e-sports arena, an Urban Street Golf course, interactive shuffleboard, and Immersive Gamebox, where your group can enter an interactive room and take on challenges.

There’s no other place in the UK where you can enjoy all these activities under one roof.

How about the food and drink?

We have three bars at Gravity, including an exclusive over-18s-only cocktail bar, open all day and night.

Our food offering has recently upgraded and it’s a gamechanger! We’ve partnered with Reef Technologies to bring seven new food brands to Gravity: Sides by Sidemen, 800 Degrees Pizza, Choppaluna, Dirty Bones, Another Wing by DJ Khaled, Coca Di Mama, and Crepeaffaire.

All the food at Gravity can be ordered via QR codes on site and can be mixed and matched, so you could order a burger from Sides, waffle fries from Another Wing, and a crepe dessert from Crepeaffaire, without sticking to one menu, which is pretty cool.

What’s your favourite game at the moment?

Hmm, I’m torn between two at the moment. We have a new Bullseye game on digital darts, which is brilliant and very nostalgic for me from watching the TV show. And just like the show you play darts and answer trivia questions as part of a team. It’s great fun.

I’m also obsessed with the Zombyte game at Hologate, where you shoot at zombies. It really feels like you’re in a post-apocalyptic world taking on the zombies, and I’m determined to get the top score. I play it all the time.

Does Gravity offer group bookings?

Yes, we offer lots of different packages, including kids’ birthday parties, stag and hen dos, and corporate away days.

We can cater for groups of 10 to 1,000 people. We have a fantastic team who coordinate and host groups to guarantee a brilliant experience.

Tell us about your live music events

We have free live music every Friday and Saturday night in our Gravity Social Bar, which sits at the heart of our enormous second floor, surrounded by bowling, golf, darts, and a bunch of other fun activities.

It’s a brilliant atmosphere at the weekends, so even if you’ve not got activities booked you can come along with friends, or on a date, and enjoy drinks and watch the bands.

The music is usually a mix of rock, pop and party songs, and there’s plenty of space to have a boogie, which is usually guaranteed after a few drinks.

What do you love most about Wandsworth Town?

Gravity, obviously! Ha-ha, no, I’m kidding.

I was actually born and raised in the area, just two miles south of Wandsworth. I’ve watched it develop over the years – I’m not disclosing how many years – and it’s a brilliant place to live and work, with lots to do.

I feel like the biggest pull of the area is the community, and that’s something I’m really keen for Gravity to be embedded in. We want to be at the heart of Wandsworth’s community.
