Wandsworth Town

Spotlight: E&H

There’s a new arrival in town, offering healthy and delicious snacks and beverages for all you guys and gals on the go. We caught up with founder and owner Evan to find out more.

Hi Evan! Tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do.

We are a takeaway smoothie and protein shake shop, but we also serve cold pressed juices, acai bowls, healthy bites – including avocado on toast – and that all important natural fuel – coffee!

Our smoothies are all made with frozen fruit and plant-based milks, with no ice or added sugars, making them incredibly healthy and delicious. All of our products, where possible, are sourced from small, local businesses, female-led companies, and social enterprises.

How did E&H come about?

I moved to the UK from America, where it’s so easy to pop out and get something healthy to eat and drink. It’s one of the things I miss most about living there. I kept hoping a shop like that would open in the area.

After years of working in tech sales I was looking to do something different, and I’ve always wanted to own my own business. I worked in a smoothie shop throughout grad school and I thought I could combine my experience from that with my desire to own my own business and open something I believe the area needs.

We can’t wait to try it for ourselves! What would you recommend?

My personal favourite is our Ginger Colada Smoothie, with spinach and vanilla protein; or our Breakfast in a Cup smoothie with espresso.

How important is sustainability to you?

Sustainability is incredibly important to me. I try to source everything from local businesses to cut down on food miles, use recyclable or compostable packaging, and create as little waste as possible.

Are you running any special offers for your big launch?

Of course! We’ll be open bright and early from 6:30am on the 22 April, and that week we’re offering 25% off all smoothies and protein shakes, so be sure to come in and grab yourself a tasty and nutritious bargain.

People often talk of the physical benefits of a healthy lifestyle, but a good diet is good for mental wellbeing, too, right?

Absolutely! I’m no doctor, but I believe a healthy diet is great for giving you energy and mental clarity, which are both great for mental wellbeing. I think it also feels great to know you’re taking care of yourself and making healthy choices.

What’s your favourite thing about Wandsworth Town?

Having lived here for six years, I love the sense of community. It has an amazing smalltown feel, which is incredible in a big city like London.
