Wandsworth Council has partnered with the charity Trees for Streets, enabling locals to sponsor tree planting and make their neighbourhoods greener.
You have the option to sponsor a tree in one of more than 2,000 pre-approved locations across the borough, or you can pick a location for a new tree in your street or neighbourhood.
Trees are a vital part of any town or city, no matter how urbanised. They calm traffic, support local wildlife, reduce air pollution, cool streets in hot weather, and they can even boost your mental wellbeing.
So, by sponsoring a tree, you’re helping to create a greener, happier and healthier place to live.
Your sponsorship includes a five to seven-year-old tree, standing approximately three to four metres high.
You can also sponsor a ‘Celebration Tree’ in one of Wandsworth’s many beautiful parks and green spaces.
And there’s great news for Wandsworth businesses, too.
If you run a local business and you’re looking to make a positive environmental impact, then by taking part in the Trees for Streets scheme you’ll be helping to add essential greenery to key areas of the borough, and meet your company’s climate and social responsibility goals.
Wandsworth businesses should email [email protected] to get involved.
The scheme is open from autumn 2026 until spring 2027.
