Purple Tuesday at Southside

On Tuesday 4 November, Southside Shopping Centre is marking Purple Tuesday by helping to raise awareness of sensory and accessibility issues.

Purple Tuesday is an annual initiative which looks to improve the customer experience for disabled people and their families year-round. Participating organisations, such as Southside, make commitments to greater inclusion and accessibility, to ensure a positive experience for all visitors.  

To mark Purple Tuesday, Southside is hosting a number of charities and initiatives such as a special ‘Baked Bean Zumba’ class organised by The Baked Bean Charity, an adult disability group who help those with learning disabilities to maximise their lives.

The charity will also be running a dance show on Purple Tuesday from 11:30am-11:45, and a Baked Bean DJ performing from 11:45am-12:15. A flashmob will also take place on the day.
